Jennifer Reyes, the membership director of YMCA Lowell, would not reply to my membership application and financial aid form emails after she found out that I am currently unemployed (it’s about 2 months already). It doesn’t necessarily mean I cannot afford the scaled fees hence why do they have a financial aid application then? I just wanted to learn how to swim for the sake of my children’s water safety and for them to form stronger swimming techniques. Multiple emails to her asking for updates were sent but no response. It’s really unfortunate as the Y is supposed to be community based. Is this some sort of prejudice towards low-income families?

Horrible spoke to a David another staff who was defensive as soon as we spoke about the financial part. I’m a single mother of three who had to apply to financial aid to get my kids in camp and one staff said one thing and another said something else(with attitude ) there are plenty thing that kids could do in. Lowell for free I.e boxing, soccer police academy for youth don’t waste any money on this place it’s not worth the headache I definitely will be telling everyone I know moving to Lowell not to send anyone here! Keep the 100 $ if it makes you feel better u lost even more than 100$ worth I will never recommend sending your child here

The Lowell YMCA just upgraded the women’s locker room. Brand new shower heads are fantastic! Can’t thank Michael and Dennis enough! Also, a new mop. It’s the little things that make the Y so enjoyable!

Very happy with water aerobics and group fitness classes. Facility is nicely maintained and the instructors are very good.

Good indoor swimming pool, with enthusiastic coaches. Also has gym and other work out place. Best place for your kids to spend quality time under good care. Yes, the YMCA admits all children irrespective of their disabilities.
